The LFIA debuted its Historic Property Survey in the early 1990s. The survey features architecturally notable residences and buildings in the Los Feliz district, some dating back to 1900. The newly-enhanced 2019 edition of the survey has been expanded to encompass the Franklin Hills neighborhood and now includes more than 5,000 properties.

Volunteers have worked tirelessly over the years to gather pertinent information to add to the survey, such as detailed records and property descriptions along with property photos and, when available, anecdotal or factual cited material.

The survey, divided into 18 volumes and organized alphabetically by street name and number, is easy to search. To find information on a specific property follow these steps:

  1. Click on the street volume you wish to search.
  2. On the next page, open a search box using the Find function. For the “Find” function, click Control + F on PCs or Command + F on Macs.
  3. Enter the address in the search box and hit Enter.

Important Note for Property Searches: When entering an address, be sure to add the appropriate N. (north) or W. (west) before the street number. For example, enter 0000 N. Commonwealth Ave. You can find this info after the street name in the individual volumes.
