Even though LFIA’s Photo Day isn’t happening until Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Los Feliz Library, we are already receiving donations for our Photo Archives.
Special thanks goes to Richard von Ernst for his generosity. Before moving to Palms Springs, he donated a box of old photos to LFIA, including two professional photos of the 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival house where he lived on Lowry Road.
These rare 1930s photos will become part of the LFIA Photo Gallery and posted on the Find-Your-Home Interactive Map on LFIA’s website.
“Unexpected gems like this are a great addition to LFIA’s photo collection,” said Marian Dodge, co-chair of LFIA’s History Committee. “We are so thankful for each and every photo we receive.”
LFIA will be hosting its Photo Day Saturday, Sept. 9, from 1-4 p.m. at the Los Feliz Library, 1874 Hillhurst Ave. We invite residents (or former residents) to bring in old or recent photos that document the community. This year’s theme is “Celebrations” but we accept all photos depicting life in Los Feliz.
At Photo Day, we will scan your prints and return them onsite. If you’d like to send us scanned print photos (using DPI 300) or digital images, please use this link: Photo Day. Be sure to include appropriate photo date, location, names of subjects pictured and any significance of photo.
Any questions, please contact us here.
