VOLUNTEER AT THE 2025 HOMELESS COUNT — January 21
The 2025 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count in Los Feliz is being held on January 21. You can play a part in helping our unsheltered neighbors receive resources and access to shelter by volunteering to help.
The results of the Homeless Count help Los Angeles better understand where our unhoused neighbors are so we can better provide essential, life-saving resources to help them find a permanent home. Volunteering is easy and takes just a few hours of your time.
Learn more about the upcoming count HERE and register HERE.

CERT TRAINING — Begins March 5
Anyone in good health and with a sense of community can become a part of CERT – Community Emergency Response Team. If you become a CERT member, you will learn about important life-safety support techniques (you will not ever be expected to place yourself in dangerous situations).
Training includes:
- Learning to suppress small fires
- Basic first aid
- Evacuation tactics and how to collaborate with city agencies to support neighborhood exits
- Search tactics
- Communications, including the use of radios
A key factor for CERT members is the ability to spontaneously organize and activate themselves in the event of a major disaster. If there is a significant earthquake, CERT members will know where to go, how to organize their efforts, and will get to work without any specific order being issued.
Go HERE to sign up. For more information on local CERT classes contact: Benjamin P. Goldfarb at 818.574.6369 or benjamin.goldfarb@certvolunteer.org

SLO Ivan Gracia asked us to share this information with the neighborhood:
Owners of newer Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler and Ram vehicles should contact their dealers to find out if their specific vehicle is eligible for a software update. These desirable vehicles have taken the lead as the most stolen and this dealer-installed update adds several safeguards that overrides the ability of a potential car thief to program a new key to a vehicle. Thank you and Happy New Year!
