We are people working together to celebrate the diverse community, unique environment and shared stories of Los Feliz.

LFIA has proudly served the Los Feliz community through advocacy and action for more than 100 years.  A volunteer-run, member-supported 501c3 non-profit, LFIA remains one of the oldest and most influential organizations in Los Angeles. Since 1916, the Los Feliz Improvement Association (LFIA) has been dedicated to one mission: What can we do to make our Los Feliz neighborhood a better place to live?  Here are some of the ways you can help LFIA make a difference in the neighborhood:

Become A Member

It’s easy to join LFIA: Chose between a one-year membership or subscribe to automatically renew your membership each year. All proceeds from annual membership dues are used entirely for the community’s benefit.  You may join here: Become A Member, or fill out this membership form and send it, along with your payment, to LFIA, PO Box 29395, Los Angeles CA  90029.

Lynne T. Jewell Scholarship

In memory of longtime Los Feliz community leader and LFIA board member, the Lynne T. Jewell Scholarship was announced in 2024.  The award will be given to a deserving Marshall High School senior who has been accepted to college. This award supports college-bound seniors with financial need who plan to major in humanities-related liberal arts fields. The scholarship is awarded each May.

Unrestricted Donation

Since 1916, LFIA has been the voice of Los Feliz—advocating, protecting, and building a stronger community for everyone who calls it home. As your neighborhood association, we rely on your support to keep this work going. Every tax-deductible donation, big or small, directly fuels programs and initiatives that make a real difference in our community.

Tom LaBonge Scholarship

LFIA established the Tom LaBonge Leadership Scholarship at John Marshall High School in 2021 in memory of the long-time Los Angeles City Councilmember, community activist and Marshall High alum. The scholarship is awarded to a college-bound senior with financial need who demonstrates a strong commitment to leadership, community service and academic achievement. The recipient will be announced in the spring.

LFIA is tax-exempt as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. In accordance with IRS regulations, please note that since no goods or services were offered in exchange for your contribution, it will be fully tax deductible to the maximum extent of the law as of the date of your donation.
