Dr. Edmond Clinton III, author of “Clifton’s and Clifford Clinton: A Cafeteria and a Crusader,” will be the featured speaker at the Architecture&Beyond Lecture Series Thursday, Nov. 19, 6:45-7:45 p.m. at the Los Feliz Library, 1874 Hillhurst Ave.
Clinton has written the never-published biography of his grandfather, who lived in Los Feliz and was founder of the famous and iconic Clifton’s Cafeteria in downtown Los Angeles. The author recounts the story of his crusading grandfather’s battles with City Hall and his efforts to clean up city politics.
Born and raised in Los Feliz, the eldest grandson grew up working at Clifton’s as a teenager. He’s a graduate of Occidental College and USC Medical Center and an internist at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. He is also the nephew of long-time Los Feliz resident Don Clinton.
Skylight Bookstore will be on hand for the selling and signing of Clinton’s newly published book on his grandfather’s Clifton’s Cafeteria.
The free lecture series, now in its 11th year, is supported by the Friends of the Los Feliz Library and merchants of the Los Feliz BID.
