A Celebration of Jewish Angeleno Culture and Civic Engagement – 5/4/18
Please join Councilmember David Ryu alongside his colleagues to celebrate Jewish Angeleno Culture and Civic Engagement. We are also excited to announce that Mayor Eric Garcetti, City Attorney Mike Feuer and City Controller Ron Galperin will also be making special remarks at the Jewish Heritage Month Kick Off Celebration. The celebration will take place Friday, May 4, 2018 at City Hall.
Note: RSVP is necessary to receive free parking. We suggest arriving to City Hall no later than 9:30am to allow for enough time to park and go through security. The Council presentation will begin at 10:00am.
LA Metro NextGen Bus Study
Metro is reimagining its bus system for the next generation. The NextGen Bus Study will redesign a new bus system that is more relevant and attractive to the residents of LA County. We believe this will improve service to current customers, attract new customers and win back past customers.

Atwater Village-Griffith Park Bridge Construction – Bike Detour
Construction of the Atwater Bridge will begin at the beginning of May. This is a non-motorized bridge for equestrians, pedestrians and bicyclists to make year-round crossings of the Los Angeles River between the communities of Atwater Village in CD 13 and Griffith Park in CD 4. During construction, the LA River Bike Path will be closed starting in May, from Los Feliz Boulevard to Colorado Street.
Metro’s Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project
To help gather information for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor project, Metro is conducting a short online survey to understand more about those who use the 405 freeway, Sepulveda Boulevard, canyon roads and other routes between the San Fernando Valley, the Westside, LAX, the South Bay and other parts of the Southland.Take the new survey for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor project.
LGBTQ Center Open House – 5/3/18 On Thursday, May 3rd, join LAPD Hollywood. Assistant Chief Girmala, and the Los Angeles LGBT Center at the LAPD Headquarters Hollywood Police Station for an LGBTQ Open House! All are welcome to meet police officers, tour the station, and learn about resources and services available. Join the fun starting at 4pm!
Census 2020 Hackathon – 5/6/18
The Los Angeles Public Library,in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of the Census, LA City’s Information Technology Agency, and the County of Los Angeles are hosting the first-ever hackathon focused on the 2020 Census to ensure that everyone gets counted in Los Angeles. This event is presented as part of Digital Inclusion Week.

De Longpre Park – Community Meeting – 5/9/18
Our office and the Department of Recreation and Parks will be holding a community meeting at Hollywood City Hall’s Community Room on Wednesday, May 9, from 6:00-7:30pm, to present identified upgrades to De Longpre Park. This is an opportunity for community members to give their thoughts on which improvements are the highest priority. There will be blown up images of the upgrades on presentation boards for attendees and RAP will also be present to clarify their suggested improvements to the park.
