Art writer Suzanne Muchnic will discuss the history of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art at the Architecture&Beyond Lecture Series Thursday, March 17, 6:45-7:45 p.m. at the Los Feliz Library, 1874 Hillhurst Avenue.
In her recently published book, “LACMA So Far: Portrait of a Museum in the Making,” Muchnic tracks the history of the museum from an art-poor branch of multipurpose institution in Exposition Park to the largest general art museum in the western U.S.
Muchnic, a longtime art writer for the Los Angeles Times and contributor to many art publications, has followed the evolution of LA’s art scene since the 1970s and has traveled widely reporting on important artists, museums, exhibitions and cultural issues.
Skylight Bookstore will be on hand for the selling and signing of Muchnic’s book.
The free Architecture&Beyond lectures are supported by the Friends of the Los Feliz Library and merchants of the Los Feliz BID.
