Actor Anthony Edwards lived here in the 1990s. Edwards was born 1962, the son of an architect and an artist. His parents encouraged him to act at age 16, which led early on to commercials that helped him pay his education at USC where he studied acting. His first role was a small one in the smash “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” (1982), which led to his first starring role as nerdy “Gilbert Lowell” in “Revenge of the Nerds” (1984). Other starring roles forwarded his acting career: “Top Gun” (1986) and “Summer Heat” (1987). Edwards achieved his biggest successes in television: “Northern Exposure” (1990) and especially “ER” (1994), for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award four times.
