LFIA Hosts Congressman Adam Schiff at Friendship Auditorium

The Los Feliz Improvement Association welcomed our Congressman Adam Schiff to a packed house, full of energized constituents at Friendship Auditorium on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th.

Congressman Schiff, Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, spoke about the importance of and reasons behind his Committee’s Russia investigation on Capitol Hill. The attentive, engaged audience posed a variety of policy-related questions to the Congressman following his speech.

To commemorate Memorial Day, the evening opened with a color guard from Los Angeles High School. LFIA honored members of John Marshall High School’s Academic Decathlon team along with their coach, Larry Welch. Councilmember David Ryu was on hand to present the 2017 LFIA Academic Scholarship Award to recipient, Abeer Hossain. The evening was punctuated by spontaneous applause and several standing ovations for the Congressman and the scholars onstage.
