Original owner Kenneth Preuss engaged in building contracting, insurance, and was president of Nelson Ice Cream Company, Sequoia Land and Water Co., Halbriters Men’s Furnishings, and Spencer Kennelly Co. auto dealers. (Source Who’s Who in California, 1928-29.) Other owners after Preuss sold in 1947 were Fred Winer, Phyllis Keeton, Ted Meyers, Edward and Julia Tourgeman.
