History:
Cummings attempted to develop much of the area around Cummings Drive early in the 20th century. He owned a shoe store at 110 S. Spring St. In 1930, it was the residence of his daughter Helene, while Wilbur and his wife Minnie remained in their home just west on Cummings Lane. Charles W. Cummings was an LFIA Director from 1951 until 1953, and again from 1961 to 1966.
