Sarah Hathaway Bixby Smith, owner by 1930: Past President of the Friday Morning Club, and writer; born at San Juan Bautista, California, the daughter of Llewellyn and Mary (Hathaway) Bixby; her primary education was received in the public schools of her native state; then she was graduated from Wellesley College; married to Paul Jordan Smith, well known writer; she has written a number of imaginative works, including “My Sagebrush Garden” and “Pasear”, two volumes of poetry; also a volume of California reminiscences entitled, “Adobe Days”; Mrs. Smith is a member of the Board of Scripps College, Friday Morning Club, Woman’s Athletic Club, and the Women’s University Club; she and her family reside at 4800 Los Feliz Boulevard, Los Angeles.
