History:

Cinematographer brothers Edgar and Reginald Lyons lived at 4603 W. Melbourne Ave- nue at the time of the 1920 US census. Edgar and Reginald Lyons were respectively born in 1894 and 1891 in New York City. They both established distinguished careers in the film industry as cinematographers. Edgar’s career spanned between 1921 and 1946. He became especially known for westerns and his credits included “The Singing Cowboy” with Gene Autry (1936). Reginald’s career essentially ended with talkies, but he was the cinematographer in 49 productions between 1915 and 1929, including “Black Beauty” (1921) and “Golf” (1922).
