History:
4506 W. Melbourne was the home of actor Harold Goodwin at the time of the 1920 US census. Harold Goodwin was born in 1902 in Peoria, Illinois and began in silent pictures in 1915 when still in his teens. After maturing into an athletic type, he was cast in leading roles through the 1920s. His career diminished in the 1930s and he took on character roles. He continued to act well through to the 1960s and by the time he retired, he had appeared in an astonishing 263 productions. He is particularly associated with Buster Keaton’s films (they became good friends), and also with the Hoot Gibson silent westerns. He passed away in 1987 in Woodland Hills, California.
