History:

The Original owner/builder Lewis D. Collings was an attorney who began practicing in California in 1911. Collings was an all-around college athlete, playing on the baseball, football, basketball and tennis teams while studying at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the Los Angeles Board of Education in 1919.
