This home was built and designed by one of America’s most prominent architects, Carleton Monroe Winslow. It was for his own family, and it won the 1923 American Institute of Architect’s “Honor Award.” Some of Winslow’s important commissions were the Carthay Circle Theatre, the El Prado Complex in San Diego’s Balboa Park, the Downtown Central Library and St. Mary of the Angels Church on Finley Avenue.
