1839 N. Kenmore was the home of James A. Marcus in 1920. Marcus was a prominent actor first in theater at the end of the 19th century and began in film beginning in 1915. Throughout the silent film era he was known for playing bombastic dominant character roles. He successfully transitioned into sound and by the time of his death in 1937, he had been featured in 112 movie productions.
