History:

1612 N. Hoover Street was the home of film actor John McGuire (October 22, 1910 – September 30, 1980) in the 1930s. Between 1932 and 1952, McGuire appeared in 68 productions. In many of his early films he was a leading man, however later in his career he was forced to play bit parts. McGuire appeared in The Invisible Ghost, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Sands of Iwo Jima, Steamboat Round the Bend, The Prisoner of Shark Island and Stranger on the Third Floor.
