History:
Dr. Harold F. Whalman, who lived here in 1940, served as chairman of Ophthalmology at the College of Medical Evangelists, Los Angeles. In 1959, he received the Distinguished Nevadan Award during commencement ceremonies at the University of Nevada, “in recognition of his significant contribution to the scientific and social advancement of our nation.” Dr. Whalman published extensively in scientific and profession journals after earning his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nevada in 1922. He was named a member of the Faculty of the College of Medical Evangelists in 1935. (Journal of the American Medical Association, 1959).
