1825 N. Kingsley Drive was the home of Fredrick Malcolm Waring (1900 – 1984) and his brother Tom L. Waring at the time of the 1930 census. Waring became a popular musician, bandleader and radio-television personality, most famously as “Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians.”  He was also a promoter, financial backer and namesake of the Waring Blendor, the first modern electric blender on the market. From 1923 until late 1932, “Waring’s Pennsylvanians” were among Victor Records best-selling bands. In late 1932, he began performing on radio with great success. During the 1940s and early 1950s, Waring and his Pennsylvanians produced a string of hits, selling millions of records, including “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “Button Up Your Overcoat,” “White Christmas,” and “Dancing in the Dark.” Waring expanded into television in  1949, with The Fred Waring Show on CBS, which received several awards for Best Musical Program.  In 1938, Fred Waring introduced his Waring Blendor which was a huge success and a household kitchen icon.
