History:
Scott Dunlop lived at 1740 N. Alexandria at the time of the 1920 census.
Scott R. Dunlop was born in 1892 in Chicago, Illinois. After working in film in various capacities for nearly four years, he was given his first job as a director in 1919. Most of his output in the 1920s consisted of Westerns, a genre in which he continued to specialize into the talkie’s era. He briefly became a talent agent in the early 1930s, but by the end of that decade he was listed as a Producer at Monogram Pictures Studio. Because his productions were of much better quality and technical expertise than most other films at that studio, he generally supervised the first installments of the studio’s various series: Charlie Chan, the Cisco Kid, etc. This persuaded first-time exhibitors to pick up the succeeding episodes. He passed away in 1970 after having produced 45 films (between 1937 and 1961), directed 45 films (between 1919 and 1929), written eight films (between 1919 and 1944), and edited one (in 1928).
Sold on August 19, 2005 for $853,000.
