Douglas Keister, author of “Storybook Style: America’s Whimsical Homes of the 1920s,” will speak at the Architecture&Beyond Lecture Series Thursday, Sept. 14, 6:45-7:45 p.m. at the Los Feliz Library, 1874Hillhurst Ave.
This marks the second book on whimsical architecture by the Chico-based photographer and writer. The new edition features several Los Feliz homes designed in the 1920s from the style born in the backlots of Hollywood evoking the exotic architecture of medieval Europe and the Middle East.
Keister is author of some 25 books on architecture and has lectured across the U.S. on topics such as cemetery history, historic architecture and photographic techniques.
Skylight Books will have his book for purchase and signing.
The free lecture series, offered for over 10 years, is supported by the Friends of Los Feliz Library and merchants of Los Feliz Village BID.
