Author and architect Cory Buckner returns to the Architecture&Beyond Lectures Series, this time to discuss her new book, “The Lyman House and the Work of Frederic P. Lyman,” Thursday, Nov. 16, 6:45-7:45 p.m. at the Los Feliz Library, 1874 Hillhurst Ave.

Buckner has lectured nationally on modernist architects and modernist tract housing. Her previous books are “A. Quincy Jones” and “Crestwood Hills:  The Chronicle of a Modern Utopia.”

Her new book focuses on Lyman, her former boss, who was part of the Southern California modern architecture movement.   The exquisitely crafted Lyman House, which has been compared to a Shinto shrine, was his signature work in Malibu.

Skylight Books will have books by Buckner for purchase and signing.

The free lecture series, offered for over a dozen years, is supported by the Friends of Los Feliz Library and merchants of Los Feliz Village BID.
